Mentor Teacher Program: Laura Burke

My name is Laura Burke and I began working in the field of Early Childhood Development and Education in 1988. In 1997 I was chosen for the position of an Early Childhood Instructional Specialist at the Antelope Valley College Child Development Center. My education is ongoing with many classes from the Antelope Valley College and some courses through the UCLA Extension program. I have earned Master Teacher and Site Supervisor Permits from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and I am also a California State Mentor Teacher. I am a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. I truly enjoy my position and the opportunity to help others learn and gain valuable skills and strategies for working with young children and their families.
