Electronics Technology - ELTE
The prevalence of electronic equipment in home and industry has greatly increased the demand for skilled electronic technicians. The program prepares students for employment through courses in current principles, circuit analysis, microprocessor systems, networking, computer maintenance, communications systems and more.
Those who enjoy precise work with tools, instruments and equipment can find a rewarding career in the field of electronics. Changes in technology and the development of new electronic components make for a challenging career for those able to keep abreast of the changes.
Electronics technicians can find employment in aerospace, computers and telecommunications.
What certificates/degrees can I earn?
- Students may obtain a certificate or associate degree in electronics technology. AVC’s Electronics Technology curriculum is the only FAA-certified program in the western United States!
What will I learn?
- The electronics technology program at AVC is designed to prepare men and women for work as electronic technicians in the development, manufacture and service of electronic equipment and systems.
- Electronics students get hands-on experience to gain the manipulative skill and technical knowledge needed for employment. Select students may also have the opportunity for paid internships with area employers while still enrolled at AVC.
What kinds of classes are offered?
- Classes include the study of circuit analysis, microprocessors, avionics, robotics and electronics mathematics. The program is housed in the Technology Building, which boasts industry-standard equipment with state-of-the-art laboratories.
