Oral History Project

In January 2015 an oral history program was initiated to capture the memories of faculty, staff, and former students of AVC. Elizabeth Diachun, Executive Director, Marketing and Public Information, suggested contacting the Visual and Performing Arts Division to see if this project could be accomplished using campus video recording facilities.

The project came under the direction of Graphic Arts Instructor Terry Rezek and Photography Laboratory Technician Orin Yost, and allowed student videographers to get some real – time experience making a documentary film.

The first interview was recorded in March 2015 under the direction of Mrs. Linda Rehberger and Dr. Rosa Hall, Coordinator of the Oral History Project, and featured Dr. Magdalena Caproiu. Interviews with retirees Jane Cwayna and Winifred Brunston followed. Steve Standerfer, retired AVC Director of Marketing and Public Information, conducted the interviews.
