Mission & Benefits
Mission
The Antelope Valley College Honors Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) is dedicated to providing excellence through unique classroom experiences aimed at preparing a diverse student body for university-level course work, while providing transfer opportunities through Honors to Honors transfer agreements negotiated by the Honors Transfer Council of California.
Benefits
Priority consideration for admission to University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California Irvine (UCI), University of California Riverside (UCR), Whittier, Pomona College, Pitzer College, Occidental College, and Chapman University upon certification as an Honors Transfer Program (TAP) graduate is a benefit of the honors program. Other benefits include:
- Special recognition at graduation
- Special recognition of honors courses on your transcript
- Small seminar classes
- Close interaction with honors faculty
- Motivated peers
- Assistance of the Honors Counselors
- Honors Scholar notation on AVC transcript (upon graduation)
