The AVC ID password management system can be accessed at http://avcid.avc.edu
What is AVC ID?
AVC ID is a user friendly password and authorization service powered by PortalGuard that will allow Antelope Valley College to move forward toward a true single sign on system. For now a user will still have to sign onto the computer then sign in to AVC ID but that second sign on will cover myAVC, Canvas, Google Services, eLumen, EduNav, and many other services.
AVC ID has several methods to recover or reset a password, and allow for two factor authentication.
Self-service Password Reset options
AVC ID enables users to reset their own password using several options after set up. Use the Registered Email Address or Registered Phones menu options on the Account Management screen to set up an external email or text number for self-service password resets
-
Text message
-
Alternate email address
-
Google Authenticator app *
-
Printed (offline) passcodes
-
myAVC Help Desk
*Other Authentication applications will work, but AVC ITS will be supporting the Google Authenticator as the only approved application at this time.
AVC ID - One Time Passcode Setup
Once you have reset your password click the Manage Your Account Settings link. The link is located in the upper right corner of the AVC ID screen
The Account Management screen will appear
You will need to set up a Registered Email Address (which has to be a non-AVC external email address) or a Registered Phone number to receive One Time Passcodes.
After you have set one or the other make sure you also go to the OTP Delivery Methods screen and choose how you want your Password Reset delivered.
Using AVC ID to Reset Password
Go to the AVC ID site using the icon on your AVC computer desktop, accessing through one of the many links located on the AVC website, inside of myAVC, or https://avcid.avc.edu
Enter your username and then click “Forgot Password?”
An email/text will be sent to your chosen OTP delivery. That email/text will contain a password that is entered into the One Time Passcode field. (See example screen below)
After Continue is clicked you will need to choose a new password for your AVC ID account.

This screen also has several sub-menus that can be used to set up options.

Printed One Time Passcodes will let you print a sheet that contains 10 nine digit One Time Passcodes. (Redacted example below)
