Counseling
YOU MATTER: As your AVC Counseling Department, we are committed to supporting student success, and offering value to our diverse campus community. Combating racism is not a political issue, but a human rights issue, and as such we embrace all races/ethnicities as well as all gender identities, abilities or disabilities, religious affiliations, immigration statuses, sexual identities and economic statuses. Alongside CCC Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley, we stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, and recognize that a safe, and equitable campus culture is critical towards fostering the highest success of our students. You matter and AVC Counseling staff are here for you.
The Counseling Center is designed to help students plan their educational program, provide information on transfer, degree, and certificate requirements, assist with career planning, and help solve personal problems. Students are encouraged to make an appointment with a counselor after applying to AVC.
AVC Counseling offices are now open for express counseling and to make an appointment at the front counter. Appointments can also be booked via phone or online. See below for details.
