Hear from Professor Angela Davis on Higher Education and Social Justice

The Student Equity Speaker Series presents Professor Angela Davis. Through her activism and scholarship over the last decades, Angela Davis has been deeply involved in our nation’s quest for social justice. As an educator, she has placed great emphasis on the importance of building communities that fight for economic, racial, and gender justice, both at the university level and in the larger public sphere.

Having authored nine books and delivered lectures across the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America, Davis has been a prominent voice in the social justice movement. Her most recent work has focused on the range of social issues associated with incarceration and the criminalization of communities affected by poverty and racial discrimination. Her most recent book is Freedom is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement.
